Jackie Ferrufino
Jackie is an aspiring medical student with a deep passion for serving underserved and underrepresented communities. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Bioethics & Medical Humanities. During her final gap year before medical school, she is stepping back from her extensive experience in the medical field to support the Breakthrough Houston team. Jackie believes this role will further strengthen her dedication to educational equity and deepen her commitment to addressing disparities in disadvantaged communities. Although new to the staff, Jackie is no stranger to the Breakthrough Collaborative—she was a Breakthrough student herself. While in college, she briefly worked with the Breakthrough Central Texas team and has continued to volunteer in various capacities over the past few years. In her free time, Jackie leads an active lifestyle, training for marathons and even teaching pilates.
