Sarah Yockey, Program Director (Connect)

Sarah Yockey joins Breakthrough Houston as Program Director at the Connect Community site. Sarah grew up in Illinois and Colorado, and moved to Texas to earn her B.Arch. at the University of Houston. As a college student, Sarah spent three summers as a Teaching Fellow with Breakthrough Houston and remained involved as a mentor, supporter, and instructional coach. Sarah spent five years teaching 7th grade English and a Junior/Senior research capstone at Chinquapin Preparatory School where she also served as the Middle School Dean and as the Girls Dorm Parent. Sarah completed her M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision at the University of Houston. Sarah brings a designer’s mindset to her work along with a deep love of books and a commitment to ensuring access to a great education is available to all. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys swimming, reading, hosting people for meals, and traveling to see friends.
