Breakthrough students are a dynamic group of motivated students selected from across Houston who are supported through an unparalleled ten-year academic and social enrichment program. The journey includes the six-week Summer Institutes (grades 7-9) and Saturday programming during the school year.

Middle School Student Application Is Now Open

STUDENTS MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Academically motivated with a mostly A and B grades
  • At or above grade level in Math and Reading (based on STAAR or other standardized tests)
  • Enrolled in 6th or 7th Grade in Public, Charter, Private, or Home School
  • Can attend both school year and summer programming
  • 8th graders may apply for limited seating

Scholar selection will take into consideration factors that may present challenges to college completion.
