9th Grade Program Manager

The College Bound Program Manager will be responsible for program delivery and personalized support for up to 180 ninth grade students. This full-time opportunity starting in June 2023 is ideal for an individual who enjoys counseling 9th grade students in an advising capacity and who is interested in helping to build and grow relationships with students and families. Must have experience working with middle or high school students and developing non-cognitive skills. 

Full Time AmeriCorps Member

Breakthrough is a non-profit organization with the mission of providing a path through college. AmeriCorps members provide essential  support to students beginning in seventh grade who are on this path. Members provide mentoring, academic support, coaching, program  planning and implementation, and other activities to contribute to the success of Breakthrough students. Members will receive extensive  training in a variety of areas to prepare them for a rewarding and successful placement with Breakthrough. 

Part Time Administrative Assistant

Breakthrough Houston’s Administrative Assistant will report to the Executive Director (ED). The Administrative Assistant will provide essential support to the ED and will assist members of the BTH team. This hybrid in-person and remote role would be a great fit for a current college student. 

Summer Program Instructional Coach

Breakthrough Instructional Coaches will supervise and provide instructional coaching for the Breakthrough Summer Faculty (Teaching Fellows and Teaching Assistants who are high school upperclassmen and college students) with the goal of ensuring academic achievement in and successful management of academic classes. Instructional Coaches will also participate in the evaluation and professional development of the Summer Faculty.

Summer Program Dean of Students

The Dean of Students will ensure the success and viability of the summer program by attending to student and parent needs and supervising all special events.  

Summer Program Dean of Faculty

The Dean of Faculty will ensure the academic needs of each student are met through training, support, and supervision of summer faculty. They will work closely with Instructional Coaches (ICs) to maintain a high standard of achievement throughout the summer program.
