Donor Relations & Events Specialist

The Donor Relations & Events Specialist is responsible for cultivating a positive and engaging experience for our philanthropic community while ensuring quality, productivity, and efficiency in administerial procedures. In this role, you will work with the Director of External Affairs on the following areas of work in order to meet Breakthrough Houston’s ambitious fundraising goals: (1) plan, coordinate, and execute various special events with the goal of raising more than $500k annually; (2) manage a mid-level portfolio to increase donor commitment and giving, and (3) maintain a highly accurate and current donor data system (Salesforce) that effectively tracks key information, such as cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation activities.

School Year Student Tutor

As a pioneer in education reform, Breakthrough is more than an organization. We are a nationwide movement, tackling the achievement gap with a groundbreaking approach. Through our summer and school-year programs, we increase academic opportunity for highly motivated, underserved middle-and high school students, putting them on the path to college.

Breakthrough Houston works with high-achieving, underserved students in a 10+ year program. BTH is looking for college students or college graduates to support middle school students (7th and 8th grade) in various disciplines: Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Foreign Language. This is a paid position at $15/hour. Normal tutoring commitment is 1-2 hours per week in a virtual setting.
